CBS 5 Poll: Rising Disatisfaction Over Occupy Oakland & Mayor Quan
OAKLAND (CBS 5) -- Oakland residents have now grown divided over the Occupy movement, recently removed by police from its encampment in Frank Ogawa Plaza, but continue to have very strong negative opinions of Mayor Jean Quan - who has struggled in dealing with the movement, according to a newly released KPIX-TV CBS 5 poll.
The poll of 500 Oakland adults, conducted Monday by the firm SurveyUSA on behalf of CBS 5, showed 47% supported Occupy Oakland, while 41% opposed it; 12% were unsure.

These latest numbers reflect a rising disatisfaction with Occupy Oakland, which had enjoyed a 64% support level during the last CBS 5 poll on the topic on Nov. 4.
Meanwhile, disatisfaction with Oakland's mayor also continues to rise. According to the new poll data, 78% disapprove of the overall job Quan is doing. That's up from 71% on Nov. 4, 64% on Oct. 26 and 53% on Oct. 12.
The poll's findings suggest that Quan's negative image correlates to her dealings with the Occupy demonstrations in Oakland. The new poll data showed 82% disapproved of her handling of the protesters.
The poll's margin of error ranges between 3.4 and 4.5%.
