Diesel Spill Being Cleaned Up Near San Francisco's Aquatic Park
SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) - Crews were cleaning up about two gallons of diesel fuel that was spilled by a fishing vessel near San Francisco's Pier 45 Wednesday morning, a U.S. Coast Guard spokeswoman said.
Cost Guard Lt. j.g. Heather Lampert said the fuel was spilled by a crabbing boat named the "King Crab."
The spill was reported at 9:11 a.m., a fire department dispatcher said.
Lampert said some absorbent pads were placed in the water.
