2 Arrested In Fatal Santa Rosa Bar Shooting

SANTA ROSA (CBS SF) -- Two people have been arrested in a shooting outside a Santa Rosa bar that left one person dead and one injured early Saturday morning.

Police were called to the El Puente Bar at 1709 Santa Rosa Ave. shortly before 2 a.m. on a report of a gunshot victim, said Sgt. Steve Fraga.

Officers arriving at the bar found two victims lying in the parking lot in front of the bar, and were immediately given the descriptions of two suspects, Fraga said. A firearm was also found at the scene.

One suspect, later identified as Daniel Escobido Calderon was spotted briefly returning to the area and was immediately arrested. Calderon, 23, is a Petaluma resident.

A search of the area located the second suspect, a 17-year-old male, who was also arrested.

Both suspects were identified by multiple witnesses.

The victims were taken to the hospital. One victim, 23-year-old

Christopher Medina Ochoa, a Santa Rosa resident, was declared dead. The second has been identified as 21-year-old Santa Rosa resident Jullian Loeza, Jr.

The juvenile suspect has been booked without bail into Juvenile Hall on suspicion of murder. Calderon was booked into Sonoma County Jail on suspicion of accessory to murder and his bail was set at $250,000.
