Ducks, Geese Shot & Killed At Newhall Park In Concord

CONCORD (CBS 5) -- For the second time in two weeks, a number of ducks and geese were killed in a Concord park and police were trying to determine if the two separate incidents were related.

Several ducks and geese found were found dead or near-dead over the weekend in a lake at Newhall Park. Video taken at the scene for CBS 5 by a photographer showed birds that appeared to be suffering from gunshot wounds.

Animal Services officials indicated that a similar incident happened two weeks ago, when several foul were found shot near Willow Pass Park.

Authorities asked that anyone with information about the attacks contact Concord police.
