SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) — A fatal collision involving a motorcycle and car blocked two right lanes on the upper deck Bay Bridge for nearly 2 hours Friday, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The collision between a motorcycle and a gray Toyota Avalon occurred around 10:45 a.m. on westbound Interstate Highway 80 near the S-curve, a CHP spokesman said.

The motorcyclist was ejected and thrown against the wall and fencing on the north side of the bridge, suffering fatal injuries. The driver and passenger in the Toyota were not injured.

The two right westbound lanes were blocked while San Francisco medical examiner’s officials responded to the scene.

The lanes were reopened around 12:45 p.m.
