Vacaville Hit-And-Run Suspect Turns Himself In

VACAVILLE (CBS SF) -- A man was arrested in Vacaville Wednesday on suspicion of committing a felony hit-and-run earlier this week after he called police to turn himself in, police said.

Jason Hagberg, 41, was arrested at his home around 8:45 p.m. Wednesday after admitting that he had struck a pedestrian while driving on Tuesday and then fled the scene.

The pedestrian, a 16-year-old boy, was taken to Kaiser Hospital in Vacaville and treated for head trauma, cuts and pain to his limbs, police said.

Sgt. Rod Neal said the boy is now recovering from his injuries.

Police said Hagberg called police to report himself after reading about the incident in a newspaper.

He was booked into Solano County Jail Wednesday and was released the same night on $15,000 bail, police said.
