Teen Canucks Fan Claims She Was Attacked At Sharks Game

SAN JOSE (CBS/AP) – San Jose police are investigating a 16-year-old girl’s report that she was assaulted during a Sharks game at HP Pavilion while wearing the opposing team’s jersey.

Maggie Herger said a drunken Sharks fan hit her in the head during Wednesday’s game between the Sharks and Vancouver Canucks.

Herger, of Discovery Bay, said she suffered a concussion and was taken away in an ambulance.

CBS 5’s Gil Diaz reports that Herger had undergone brain surgery several years ago to remove a benign tumor.

According to the Sharks, the fan told police and arena staff the contact with Maggie was accidental and occurred during the celebration of a Sharks goal.

KCBS’ Matt Bigler Reports:

Police say they have taken statements from two witnesses, but don’t expect to assign detectives to the case for at least a few days. They have not made any arrests.

I really wish the Stupid A-holes that can’t handle their alcohol would just stop drinking! It is my opinion that anything and anytime someone under the influence does anything, IT IS THEIR FAULT and they should take that responsibility! If you can’t control yourself, stop drinking or stay at home and victimize your own family!

@ D.Legnosky- you’re talking about half the US population. If they followed your instructions and wishes, many many many people will unfortunately lose their jobs and other problems will arise. Dumb as it may seem, it’s also true. It doesn’t make it right, but it’s still true.

Why do you think you see so many empty seats during televised games? American sports “fans” are fanatics who can’t handle their emotions. Add to that alcohol and you end up with aggressive monkeys.

I along ith several others don’t believe this happened. I think she made up the whole story after reading many articles on this. too many loopholes.
