San Anselmo Man Arrested After Firing Rifle To Celebrate New Year
SAN ANSELMO (CBS SF) -- A San Anselmo man was arrested early Sunday morning after using a rifle to ring in the new year, police said.
Police responded around 12:06 a.m. to a report of fireworks near Toyan Drive and Sunview Avenue and heard what sounded like gunshots.
After a brief search of the area, an officer found a man standing on his porch on Berkeley Avenue toting a rifle.
Mark Labelle, 54, followed police orders to put the rifle down without incident.
He was arrested and booked into Marin County Jail on suspicion of negligent discharge of a firearm and public intoxication, police said.
