BERKELEY (CBS / AP) — Freshman Reshanda Gray had 14 points and seven rebounds, Talia Caldwell added 11 points and nine rebounds and California beat Oregon State 73-56 on Thursday night.

Gennifer Brandon added 11 points and eight rebounds for the Golden Bears, who had dropped three of four before holding on against the Beavers.

California (10-5, 1-2 Pac-12) didn’t shoot well for the third straight game and couldn’t shake Oregon State until the final 3 minutes after seeing its 17-point lead nearly cut in half late.

Ali Gibson scored 16 points and Earlysia Marchbanks added 12 for the Beavers (10-4, 1-2). Oregon State, which was coming off a double-overtime loss to Washington State, has dropped three of four since winning nine of its first 10.
