SAN FRANCISCO (KCBS)— If your eyes are suffering fatigue from the strain of staring at screens, or you're just old fashioned, KCBS' Food and Wine Editor Narsai David recommends Fine Cooking as a monthly magazine for your culinary interests.

"The photography in it is worth the price of admission. It really shows food the way it comes out," he explained saying that it's not concocted in a lab and is the real deal.

David said he's impressed by the sensible, well written articles, but is most pleased with the simple 30 minute start to finish dinner for tonight ideas.

KCBS' Narsai David Reports:

Some honorable mentions he gave were for the winter greens recipe along with lasagna from scratch, and a soul-warming chicken soup.

The soup recipe includes the basic aromatics; carrots, celery, fennel, shallots, onions and by the pictures you can tell how much they're supposed to be chopped up.

He finds the magazine to be inspiring and full of ideas and doesn't even need the exact recipe (although it is included if you're looking for specifics).

And if you can't break the habit of ditching your tablet or laptop, you're in luck as they do have a website at finecooking.com.
