Novato Arsonist Sets 15+ Small Fires

NOVATO (CBS SF) -- Novato police are hunting for an arsonist that set more than 15 small fires between 9 p.m. Saturday and 3 a.m. Sunday.

15 to 20 small fires were set at five different locations around the city including on South Novato Boulevard near Redwood Boulevard, Sunnybrae Lane near Seascape Drive, Redwood Boulevard and Briarwood Court and in the Cheda Knolls area, police said Sunday.

One fire was set in a dumpster, while the others were brushfires.

No homes or structures were affected, but a PG&E pole and a fence in the Seascape Village area were damaged.
