Pedestrian Killed By Hit & Run Driver In Oakland

OAKLAND (CBS SF) – A man walking across an Oakland street was struck and killed by a car that fled the scene late Monday night, an Oakland police officer said.

The fatal hit-and-run that killed a man crossing the street at 73rd and Bancroft avenues was reported at 11:17 p.m., Oakland police Office J. Moore said.

Witnesses said the driver got out of the vehicle to check the condition of the victim before getting back in and driving away.
