Man Near Antioch School Points Gun At Parent

ANTIOCH (CBS SF) - Antioch police responded to Deer Valley High School Wednesday afternoon after a man reportedly aimed a gun at a parent near the school, police said.

The man allegedly aimed a gun at the parent and made verbal threats near the school, located at 4700 Lone Tree Way, according to police.

The parent reported the incident to a school employee who alerted police.

Officers responded at around 1:45 p.m. and detained Antioch residents Jashowndre Upshaw, 20, and Myrick Rucker, 19, by a nearby Taco Bell restaurant, police said.

Upshaw was booked into Martinez Detention Facility and Rucker was released pending further investigation, police said.

Officers recovered two loaded handguns from a vehicle near the area where the men were contacted, police said.

Police said none of the parties involved were students and no students were injured or threatened.
