Keys To A 49ers Victory Over The Giants

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS Sports) -- There are three keys to a San Francisco 49ers victory over the New York Giants in Sunday's NFC Championship game, according to CBS Sports experts:

1) Find an unsung hero -- Outside of TE Vernon Davis, who will likely be double-covered, and WR Michael Crabtree, the 49ers are shorthanded when it comes to receiving options. Someone unexpected, like WR Kyle Williams or backup TE Delanie Walker, will have to come up big.

2) Capitalize on short fields -- The 49ers started a league-leading 37 drives in opponents territory during the regular season and had three more last week against the Saints, scoring 13 points in those situations, and had another touchdown on a drive they started at their own 46. They'll need more of the same against the Giants.

3) Make the Giants march -- The 49ers defense has had an excellent season, but it did allow 12 passes of over 40 yards in the regular campaign and two more last week against the Saints. The secondary needs to tackle well and not let anyone get behind them against the Giants.
