Union City Hit-And-Run Leaves Pedestrian Dead

UNION CITY (CBS SF) — Police in Union City are searching for the driver of a vehicle that fatally struck a man in the city Sunday morning, police said.

Officers responded to a report of a man down on Alvarado Niles Road near Union Square about 6:10 a.m., according to Union City police.

Arriving officers found a male victim who appeared to have been struck by a vehicle traveling west on Alvarado Niles Road, police said.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver and vehicle involved in the collision had not been identified as of Sunday afternoon.

    It would have been nice if you would have given Henry a bit more air time. He has a story.If people heard it, maybe they might think a bit more about coming forward with anything that might seem small to them, but may help the police. The man’s name was HENRY. He worked very hard at the bakery next to where he was killed. He may have been a person dealing with disabilities, but he never let that stop him from working hard. Henry always had hugs and jokes for my kids when he was on his breaks. I wish you would have taken time to get to know the man that is now missed by friends and family.
