Man Critically Hurt In San Francisco Bernal Heights Shooting

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) - A man was critically injured in a shooting that occurred during a robbery attempt in San Francisco's Bernal Heights neighborhood on Saturday night, police said Monday.

The shooting was reported at 8:19 p.m. in the 500 block of Alemany Boulevard.

The 59-year-old victim was approached by a man who tried to rob him. When the victim tried to flee, he was shot in the torso, according to police.

He was taken to San Francisco General Hospital to be treated for his injuries, which were considered life-threatening, police said.

The suspect, who is in his late teens or early 20s, fled and had not been found as of Monday.
