3 Hospitalized After Boat Capsizes Near SF Ocean Beach

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) -- Three people were taken to a hospital Thursday evening after their boat overturned near San Francisco's Ocean Beach, a fire dispatcher said.

Emergency crews responded to the beach shortly before 5:30 p.m. The boat has been described as a 17-foot Boston Whaler.

The dispatcher said two of the boaters may be suffering from hypothermia and one reportedly was given CPR at the scene.

The National Weather Service had issued a high surf advisory earlier Thursday, with forecasters saying waves of 15 feet were expected along area beaches.

All three were taken to UCSF Medical Center. Their conditions were not known as of late Thursday night.
