Car Runs Over Concord Woman In Her Own Driveway

CONCORD (CBS SF) - A Concord woman died Sunday after she was run over by a car in her own driveway, according to police.

Police received a call shortly before 10:30 a.m. reporting that a woman was trapped under a car at 4337 Pembroke Drive.

Medical personnel pulled the woman, identified as Joyce Arendtson, 69, out from under the rear of the vehicle and took her to John Muir Medical Center in Walnut Creek.

Investigators believe Arendtson was standing in her driveway when the vehicle began to roll backwards. She attempted to stop it, but it struck her and trapped her underneath.

Arendtson died of her injuries at the hospital.

Anyone with information on this crash is asked to call Traffic Officer Ken Carlson at (925) 603-5931.
