Girl Reports Luring Attempt At San Anselmo Bus Stop

SAN ANSELMO (CBS SF) - An 11-year-old girl waiting at a San Anselmo bus stop Wednesday evening was approached by a man who offered her a ride, police said.

At about 6:10 p.m. Wednesday, the girl was standing alone at the bus stop at 45 Center Blvd. when she was approached by a van driving west before it stopped in front of the girl, police said.

The driver told the girl, "Do you need a ride, I can take," police said.

The girl replied no and walked away, according to police.

The driver then drove away and did not come in contact with the girl again.

Police checked the surrounding area for the driver and van but did not find either.

Police said the girl described the suspect as a white man in his 40s with brown hair and wearing a baseball hat. The van was described as white with dark windows.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call San Anselmo police at (415) 258-4610.
