Giants Sign Ramon Ortiz, 2 Others To Minor League Deals

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS/AP) – Right-hander Ramon Ortiz has agreed to a minor league contract with the San Francisco Giants and been invited to big league spring training.

The 38-year-old went 1-2 with a 4.86 ERA in 22 appearances with two starts last year for the Chicago Cubs in his 11th major league season. He will join his eighth team.

San Francisco also agreed to minor league contracts with outfielder Justin Christian and left-hander Travis Blackley.

Christian was invited to big league camp.
