Police Seek Vandals Hurling Rocks At Livermore Homes

LIVERMORE (CBS / AP) -- Police in Livermore are trying to find vandals responsible for damaging homes with rocks apparently hurled by some kind of powered device.

One of the rocks ended up near a child's crib at one home. No one has been reported injured from the vandalism.

The damage occurred in the early morning hours Saturday, when police said nine separate incidents were reported throughout the city.

Police say the rocks were launched at dangerous speeds, with some of the rocks actually breaking through windows and embedding in a wall near the child's crib.

In addition to houses, the rocks have damaged cars and mailboxes.
