Woman Found Dead At Base Of Sonoma Coast Cliff

BODEGA BAY (CBS SF) - A Suisun woman was found dead at the base of a cliff near Bodega Bay on Monday night, Sonoma County sheriff's officials said.

Kazuko Beall, 55, was at Sonoma Coast State Beach for several hours with her husband when she decided to take a walk at sunset, according to the sheriff's office.

A short time later, her husband went to look for her and called 911 when he could not find her, sheriff's officials said. Sheriff's deputies responded around 6:50 p.m.

Park rangers were unable to locate Beall, and a California Highway Patrol helicopter arrived around 8:05 p.m.

The helicopter crew found Beall at the bottom of a cliff at Bodega Head around 8:25 p.m.

Sheriff's detectives are determining whether she fell or jumped, but do not believe there was any foul play involved in her death.
