3 Arrested In Marin County Child Porn Ring Bust

NOVATO (KCBS) - Three men were arrested on suspicion of circulating child pornography in a series of raids that took place Thursday across Marin County.

The Silicon Valley Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force executed warrants at seven different homes in Novato and San Rafael Thursday after undercover agents were offered explicit child pornography videos online.

The videos featured children as young as three years old engaging in sexual acts with adults, said San Jose Police Sgt. Greg Lombardo, the task force commander.

"This isn't 16 or 17-year-old 'Girls Gone Wild'-type stuff. We're talking about prepubescent children," he said.

Lombardo said in most cases the children in the videos had been previously identified and located. The suspects in the warrants were accused of sharing the videos in peer-to-peer online file sharing transfers.

In some cases, the suspects named in the warrants were not home when the authorities conducted their raids, so the number of arrests was expected to increase.
