Ashton Kutcher Acts As Observer During Marin County Child Porn Raids

NOVATO (KCBS) – Actor Ashton Kutcher accompanied investigators during a child porn sweep in Marin County on Thursday, acting as an observer for a non-profit foundation dedicating to eradicating child pornography.

Kutcher rode along with federal agents and officers from a variety of police agencies as they served arrest warrants at 7 homes in Novato, San Rafael and other parts of Marin County.

A spokesman for the San Jose police department said in a statement Kutcher was not allowed to enter the homes being raided or to participate in any way, in accordance with police policy and current case law.

Kutcher observed the raid conducted by the Silicon Valley Internet Crimes Against Children Task force, authorities said, because the organization he and his estranged wife founded, the Demi and Ashton Foundation, supports the goals of the multi-agency task force.

Silicon Valley Task Force Strikes Again – KCBS’ Doug Sovern Reports:

Authorities arrested at least three men and seized computers and other evidence police said that show the men circulated videos of prepubescent children having sex with adults.

Guess who’s getting a subpoena when these cases go to trial?

So the police are now “scheduling” raids to accommodate movie stars, in order to get PUBLICITY? How SICK is THAT?

Shouldn’t a RAID occur the INSTANT the crime is discovered, in order to stop the offender from more crimes? Oh, wait, were still waiting on make-up and lighting to arrive. Ready…”Action!”

    1. DaPoPoMan says:

Sorry, that is not how it works. Raids come as a result of investigation, sometimes very long term, which lead to the issuance of search or arrest warrants. Then you get the agencies involved together and go arrest the suspects. I would suspect a lot of these came from pretext contacts in internet chat rooms or message boards where these reprehensible folks, the molesters not the cops, solicited what they thought were children.

Yea…it’s called investigation for a reason. I don’t know how easy it is in your fairyland…but here in reality, the police have to build up solid evidence and do a little investigation before they perform a bust.

Good. Imagine the caught child porn dudes seeing Ashton at the raids, thinking (rather hoping) that they were simply “Punked” by Asstin Catcher. Hats off to him for using social media to bring attention to this dreadful crime.
