Arsonist Sets Books, Computers On Fire At SF Main Library
SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) -- Books, computers and other property were lit on fire in the San Francisco Public Library's main branch on Sunday, a police spokesman said Monday.
Officers responded to the library, located at 100 Larkin St., around 3:40 p.m. and found that books, video cassettes, a desk and computers had been burned in a section of the library that is closed to the public on Sundays, police spokesman Sgt. Daryl Fong said.
Investigators have obtained surveillance footage that captured the person who lit the items on fire, Fong said.
The suspect is described as a black man between 20 and 40 years old who has black hair and was wearing a black jacket, dark jeans, white shoes and a black baseball cap with a white logo, according to Fong.
