Man Robbed At Knifepoint At Moraga Shopping Center

MORAGA (CBS SF) – A 25-year-old man was robbed at knifepoint outside a Moraga shopping center on Tuesday evening, police said.

Police received a report at 6:55 p.m. about an armed robbery in the parking lot of the Rheem Valley Shopping Center, near the Burger King at 470 Moraga Road.

The victim told police the suspect had approached him as he was exiting his car, and had pulled out a knife and demanded money, police said.

The victim complied and the suspect fled, running north toward Moraga Road.

Officers searched the area, with assistance from Lafayette and Orinda police, but could not find the suspect.

The victim was not injured in the robbery, police said.

The suspect is described as a black man between 25 and 35 years old, standing about 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighing roughly 160 pounds. He was clean-shaven with short hair and wearing a light-colored T-shirt, a black or dark-colored sweatshirt and jeans, police said.
