16-Year-Old Critically Hurt In Oakland Shootout; 2 Arrested

OAKLAND (CBS SF) - Two people have been arrested in connection with a shooting in Oakland on Thursday that has left a 16-year-old boy in critical condition, police said Friday.

The teenager was injured in an exchange of gunfire with the suspects in the 300 block of West MacArthur Boulevard at about 1:40 p.m. Thursday, police spokeswoman Johnna Watson said.

The 16-year-old is suffering from an apparent gunshot and was transported to a hospital, she said.

The motive for the shooting is unknown and the shooting is under investigation, according to Watson.
