ANTIOCH (CBS SF) – Police have arrested one suspect in a Feb. 11 shooting that injured two people outside of a baptism reception in Antioch and have issued warrants for two others.

The Contra Costa County District Attorney’s Office has filed attempted murder charges against the three suspects. The suspect in custody, 20-year-old Shahin Ahoorai of Oakley, was due in court Friday.

Police responded to the shooting at the Antioch Women’s Club on 509 G St. at 9:14 p.m.

They determined there had been a fight between a group present at the reception and another person in the street, in what police said was determined to be a gang-related assault.

The two victims tried to separate those fighting, but at least two of them pulled handguns and the two victims were both shot.

They were transported to a local hospital with injuries that were not life threatening, police said.

After an investigation, police arrested Ahoorai at his job in Santa Clara. Police said Ahoorai confessed his involvement in the shooting and admitted to being the getaway driver.

Police also identified Zachary Cook and Raul “Jo Jo” Pena, both 19 and from Oakley, as suspects in the incident.

Charges of attempted murder, assault with a deadly weapon and gang enhancements were filed against the three Feb. 21, and police are looking for Cook and Pena, who are believed to be hiding.

Ahoorai is being held in Contra Costa County jail in Martinez on about $3.4 million bail.

Police are asking anyone with information about the incident, or the whereabouts of Cook and Pena to contact Detective Mike Mellone at (925) 779-6930.
