Police Ask For Help Identifying San Jose Muggers

SAN JOSE (CBS SF) - Police are asking for the public's help to find three men who allegedly assaulted and robbed a man in front of a San Jose bar last December.

A man was standing in front of La Corona Bar located at 858 N. 13th St. smoking a cigarette just after midnight on Dec. 31 when the three suspects approached him, police said.

One of the suspects punched the man in the head and face, throwing him to the ground.

The three suspects fled the area, possibly to a waiting car, police said.

The victim suffered some dizziness but was not hospitalized.

When the man recovered, he realized some of his property had been stolen.

Police captured surveillance video of the man who allegedly punched the victim.

That suspect is described as a man in his early 30s who is 5 feet 6 inches tall and weighs about 230 pounds with dark circles under his eyes. Police were unable to determine his race.

The possible suspect vehicle is described as a white minivan that could be a Toyota Sienna.

Anyone with information about the strong-arm robbery is asked to contact Detective Adam Hutson at (408) 277-4166. Those preferring to leave an anonymous tip may call (408) 947-7867 or may visit www.svcrimestoppers.org.
