Young Mountain Lion Spotted Outside Montara Home

MONTARA (CBS SF) – A mountain lion cub was seen in the coastal community of Montara on Sunday evening, San Mateo County emergency officials said.

A woman reported seeing the cub in the backyard of her home in the 1400 block of Ivy Street at about 7 p.m.

Residents who see a mountain lion are advised never to approach the animal, especially one that is feeding or with offspring.

Most mountain lions will avoid confrontations with humans.
