LAKE TAHOE (CBS) – A skier died at the Sierra-At-Tahoe ski resort Sunday afternoon after falling into a deep hole, according to resort officials.
At about 1:00pm, a 54-year-old Yiwei Hu from Gold River was found unresponsive in the Castle Creek area, according to Steve Hemphill, Communications Manager at Sierra-At-Tahoe.
When Ski Patrol arrived, they were unable to resuscitate him.
Emergency crews say the skier fell into a deep hole created by an underflow of water.
