Peninsula High School Students Try Their Hands At Air Traffic Control
FREMONT (KCBS) – A group of ninth-graders from San Mateo High School received lessons in air traffic control with the Federal Aviation Administration Wednesday morning.
The FAA and NASA hosted a tour for the students at the FAA's Oakland Air Route Traffic Control Center in Fremont. The two-hour field trip is part of an education project called "Smart Skies," which aims to introduce students to air traffic control and get them interested in subjects that could lead to careers in aviation.

The students met with air traffic controllers, visited an air traffic control simulator lab, and took turns directing simulated traffic.
