(KCBS) – A web-tracking firm has come out with the Internet’s most popular sites and while Google continues to dominate, an up and coming social networking site is also making waves.
ComScore’s list of most visited websites included a huge jump for Pinterest, a place where people create virtual pinboards from things they find across the Web. Magid said that while he doesn’t use the site, comScore found that the number of unique visitors to Pinterest jumped 52 percent from January to February to more than 17.8 million.
KCBS Technology Analyst Larry Magid:
Many of the other big jumps were expected, including the IRS site and those for automakers, which saw a big boon from Super Bowl advertisements.
Pinterest, which is an invitation-only website, ranked as a top ten social site at the end of 2011.
You can hear Larry Magid’s Tech Report Monday through Friday at 3:50pm on KCBS All News 740AM and 106.9FM.
