Oakland Zoo Welcomes New Baby Otters

OAKLAND (CBS 5) - The newest members of the Oakland Zoo appeared before cameras Thursday.

"Ginger," a 4-year-old river otter, gave birth to three pups on February 18th. The two boys and their sister each weighed about 150 grams at birth.

The pups have started opening their eyes and moving around. Soon, they'll be able to eat fish and meat. Zoo officials describe them as "vocal."

Ginger has been a fixture at the zoo since 2008. The newborns will likely go on display in May.
