San Leandro Woman Stabbed To Death In Broad Daylight

SAN LEANDRO (CBS SF) -- A woman was fatally stabbed Friday afternoon in San Leandro, police said.

The San Leandro Police Department received a 911 call around 4 p.m. from the 300 block of Best Avenue regarding a female who had reportedly just been stabbed.

When officers arrived, they found the woman, who appeared to be in her 20s, slumped over the driver's seat of a parked vehicle.

The victim had been stabbed multiple times, police said, and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say, based on interviews with witnesses, the suspect specifically targeted the woman. They are following leads to try to find the suspect.

The name of the victim is being withheld until her family is notified.
