LOS ANGELES (CBS News) - Ashton Kutcher is reportedly getting another role as an Internet billionaire. Kutcher, who plays high-tech whiz kid Walden Schmidt on "Two and a Half Men," has been cast as Steve Jobs in a movie about the late Apple co-founder, according to Variety.

The independent film "Jobs," based on a script by Matt Whiteley and directed by Joshua Michael Stern ("Swing Vote"), will follow Jobs from his early days as a "wayward hippie" up through his technology ventures.

This is one of two Jobs projects in the works. The other, based on the 2011 best-selling biography by Walter Isaacson, is being developed at Sony Pictures Studios.

Kutcher, who replaced Charlie Sheen on the long-running CBS sitcom, is scheduled to shoot the movie during that TV series' production hiatus.

He gained fame as Michael Kelso on the comedy series,"That 70's Show," and has starred in such movies as "New Year's Eve," "No Strings Attached" and "Valentine's Day."
