Man Beaten With Baseball Bat In San Francisco SoMa Robbery

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) - A man was beaten with a baseball bat and robbed in San Francisco's South of Market neighborhood early Monday morning, police said.

The robbery was reported at 1:50 a.m. in the first block of Sixth Street.

The 24-year-old victim was riding his bicycle when a suspect grabbed his bicycle tire, according to police.

Three men and a woman then began beating the victim, including one who used a baseball bat, police said.

The suspects, all believed to be in their 20s, stole the man's smartphone and fled. They had not been found as of Monday morning, according to police.

The victim was taken to San Francisco General Hospital to be treated for lacerations to his head and was expected to survive, police said.
