Man Stabbed To Death In East San Jose

SAN JOSE (KCBS) – Police are looking for clues after a man was stabbed to death in East San Jose on Saturday.

Police were called to the 1800 block of Sarasota Way around 4 p.m. after there were reports of a man lying in the street suffering from stab wounds.

San Jose Police Sgt. Jason Dwyer said officers spent 15 minutes trying to revive the victim, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.

"We're asking for the public's help. We know somebody out there knows something about this case and we ask that they call either 911 or the San Jose Police Department Homicide Unit," said Dwyer.

KCBS' Betsy Gebhart Reports:

No suspects have been identified in the case and police are still looking into a possible motive.

Dwyer said that where the stabbing took place is a known gang neighborhood, but investigators are not sure the killing is gang-related.

This marks the seventh homicide in San Jose in 2012. At this time last year, there were already 13 homicides citywide.
