Restored Dutch Windmill In San Francisco's Golden Gate Park Set To Spin

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF/AP) -- A windmill undergoing restoration in San Francisco's Golden Gate Park is set to spin its sails.

The Murphy windmill was expected to turn on Saturday as part of the Queen's Day Festival at the park. The festival is a national event in the Netherlands to celebrate that country's queen.

Although the windmill has been able to spin for six months now, officials said the Dutch celebration seemed like an appropriate time to fire it up. The 107-year-old Murphy windmill is modeled after Dutch windmills.

It has been under restoration since 2002. The project is now in its final phases.

The Dutch windmill, another windmill in the park to the north of the Murphy windmill, will also spin on Saturday. That windmill has already been restored.
