3 Seriously Hurt In SF Treasure Island Crash

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) - A driver was arrested Tuesday night after striking a parked car on Treasure Island and injuring three people, including an 11-year-old boy who was critically wounded, San Francisco police said Wednesday.

Officers responded to the 100 block of Avenue M after receiving a report of a car accident with a serious injury at 9:27 p.m.

Investigators determined that a 31-year-old man and two boys, ages 9 and 11, were standing outside their parked car on the side of the road when another vehicle ran into their car.

The impact pushed the parked car into the victims, according to police.

The 11-year-old boy suffered a head injury that is considered life-threatening, while the man and other boy suffered abrasions and complained of pain to the head and chest.

All three were taken to San Francisco General Hospital, police said.

Officers arrested the driver, a 28-year-old man. Police have not yet released his name or details about the arrest.
