Pleasanton Police Discover Woman’s Remains Inside Trash Can

PLEASANTON (CBS 5) — Authorities in Alameda County are investigating human remains that were found in a trash can in the Pleasanton foothills on Thursday.

According to officials, police found the trash can on the 11000 block of Dublin Canyon Road around 11:30 a.m. Thursday.

When the officers looked inside, said Lt. Jeff Bretzing of the Pleasanton Police Department, “they found what appear to be human remains.”

Roads around the scene were closed for several hours while authorities investigated. The body was taken by the Alameda County Coroner’s office for further investigation.

Authorities confirmed to CBS 5 late Thursday night the body found was a female. But officials have not determined the woman’s age or identity.
