SF Carjacking Suspects Arrested In Oakland After Bay Bridge Chase

OAKLAND (CBS SF) - Two men were arrested after carjacking an elderly woman in San Francisco and then leading authorities on a pursuit across the Bay Bridge to Oakland early Thursday morning, a police spokesman said.

Floyd Jordan, 42, and Gabriel Jordan, 35, were arrested after an incident that began around 1:40 a.m. near the intersection of Battery and Washington streets in the city's Financial District, police spokesman Officer Albie Esparza said.

The pair allegedly broke the window of a car driven by an 83-year-old woman who also had a male passenger in the car, Esparza said.

The victims were ordered out of the car by the suspects, who then drove away in the vehicle, which was spotted a short time later traveling east on the Bay Bridge, according to Esparza.

Authorities tried to stop the car but it continued into Oakland and exited the highway at West Grand Avenue. Floyd Jordan got out of the car and tried to run away but was apprehended after a brief foot pursuit, Esparza said.

Gabriel Jordan, who was driving the car, continued for a short distance but stopped at Maritime Street and was also taken into custody, Esparza said.

The pair were both arrested on suspicion of carjacking, robbery, conspiracy and evading and resisting arrest, he said. Gabriel Jordan was also booked into jail on suspicion of battery, possession of stolen property and an outstanding warrant.
