Body Found In Pleasanton Trash Can Not Likely Sierra LaMar

PLEASANTON (CBS 5) - Investigators performed an autopsy Friday on a woman who was found inside a trash can in Pleasanton on Thursday.

Police found the body in a trash can along the 11000 block of Dublin Canyon Road around 11:30 a.m. Thursday. It is unclear how the trash can ended up in that location.

According to the Alameda County Coroner's office, the woman's body is believed to be an adult. The body's actual age, ethnicity and cause of death have not been determined. Attempts to identify the body by using fingerprints have not been successful so far.

Authorities said the woman had dark colored hair. She was wearing pajama bottoms, an Old Navy shirt and blue fingernail polish.

In a press briefing on Friday, authorities said they are fairly certain the body is not missing teen Sierra LaMar of Morgan Hill.

"Based on the physical characteristics of the body and what we know about Sierra LaMar, we do not believe, or we believe that it's not likely Sierra LaMar," said Lt. Jeff Bretzing of the Pleasanton Police Department.

LaMar was last seen on the morning of March 16th, before leaving for school. Antolin Garcia-Torres has been charged with murdering and kidnapping the 15-year-old.

Authorities are asking anyone with information related to the case to contact the Pleasanton Police Department at (925) 931-5100.
