OAKLAND (CBS SF) — An Oakland high school was on lockdown Wednesday afternoon after a student was shot nearby, a school district spokesman said.

The shooting was reported near the corner of Park and MacArthur boulevards shortly before 3:30 p.m., according to police.

Police said an 18-year-old male was shot in the leg and taken to a hospital.

Oakland High School, located at 1023 MacArthur Blvd., was locked down around 3:30 p.m. and the lockdown was lifted about a half hour later, Oakland Unified School District spokesman Troy Flint said.
