According to witnesses, four armed men attempted to rob the Gold N Treasures store on San Ramon Valley Blvd. around 4:30 p.m. Wednesday. Witnesses said the owner pulled out a gun and shot one of the gunmen. But police have not confirmed who fired the gun.

The wounded man left the store and collapsed on a busy San Ramon Valley Blvd. Police said the man was taken to the hospital, where he later died.
