Man Shot Dead In San Francisco Bayview District

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) - A 22-year-old man who was shot early Monday morning in San Francisco's Bayview District has died, a police spokesman said.

The shooting was reported shortly after 2 a.m. near Meade and Le Conte avenues.

The victim, whose name has not yet been released, was driving his car when he was shot in the head, causing the car to crash into a parked vehicle, police spokesman Officer Albie Esparza said.

The victim was taken to San Francisco General Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries at about 5 a.m., Esparza said.

No suspect information was immediately available Monday morning, he said.
