Daily Madden: Take The "Flop" Out Of the NBA

SAN FRANCISCO (KCBS) - It appears more NBA players are falling down or faking injury in an attempt to draw a foul.

"That does bother me," John Madden told the KCBS morning crew. "Anytime you take advantage of any rule, to me you're making a mockery of the game."

Madden said the NBA should take action.

"That's something that they can get out of the game. They just have to talk to coaches and players and put in rules to stop that. Because everyone thinks that's what basketball is and that's what the game is, and that's not the game." John said he's concerned we'll see more flopping in college and high school games.

"Every kid watches it," he said.

A 2010 Green Bay Packers Super Bowl ring was confiscated in a drug bust Monday. It apparently had been stolen from a team executive. Madden said it's another indication that teams give away too many rings.

"I know it sounds nice to give everyone in the organization one," Madden said. "To me that just waters it down for the people who really earn it and deserve it... It's something they can never take away from you, and it should be coveted that way." (7:55)
