Fremont Man Hospitalized After Severing His Own Penis
FREMONT (CBS SF) - Fremont police are trying to determine what prompted a man to cut off his own penis with an X-Acto knife.
Fremont police were called to a to a Mowry Avenue home early Wednesday morning. The man was hospitalized following the incident so that doctors could attempt to reattach the organ, said police Detective Bill Veteran.
Police said the 20-year-old man, whose name was withheld, did not appear to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol. An update on his medical condition was not available Wednesday afternoon. He is expected to undergo a full psychological evaluation.
