Woman Shot In San Francisco's Dogpatch Neighborhood

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) -- A woman was shot while sitting in a car with a friend in San Francisco's Dogpatch neighborhood early Wednesday morning, police said.

The shooting was reported around 1:45 a.m. near 25th and Iowa streets.

The 40-year-old victim was sitting in a car with her friend when a suspect approached and shot into the car. The woman was struck by the gunfire and was taken to a hospital by the friend. She was in stable condition as of Wednesday morning, according to police.

The suspect, described as a man in his 30s, fled and had not been found as of Wednesday morning.
