SAN FRANCISCO (KCBS) – Apple unveiled its highly anticipated new laptop at the Worldwide Developers Conference in San Francisco this week and the top of the line MacBook Pro is already stunning many experts.

The next generation 15-inch Apple MacBook Pro will now come with Retina Display, an unprecedented high-resolution screen. It will also be thinner and more compact, taking some of the qualities from the MacBook Air, with the normal power (quad-core processor) that MacBook Pro fans are used to.

KCBS Technology Analyst Larry Magid:

With all the new features, not surprisingly, the starting price has also been upped to almost $2,200.

CNET is reporting that Apple is also expected to introduce a 13-inch MacBook Pro with Retina Display and could begin production this fall.

You can hear Larry Magid’s Tech Report Monday through Friday at 3:50pm on KCBS All News 740AM and 106.9FM.
